Pick me?

So there's this weird man who comes on the bus every morning. These last few days he's been sitting by me.. and I just cant stand it. He'll come on the bus. And stand there looking at us seated in the bus.. scoping out everyone.. then he'll quickly bolt for the empty seat next to me! Why me, I ask? I can't stand it. But here lies the real issue. While I get upset with this man sitting next to me, I get equally upset when no one does as well.

Usually this upset will happen later in the bus ride. We'll be driving along.. filling up.. picking people up.. and the seat next to me remains empty. Ok. That's fine. Getting closer and closer... only a few empty seats left. Hmm. Why did that guy sit with that crazy woman? I'm much more normal than her? Now there's only two seats left. Mine included. The person walks in.. looks around.. and picks the other seat. Mine remains. It's like being picked last on the playground! Well.. it even goes further! Imagine that this seat stays empty THE WHOLE RIDE. It's when the person walks in ... looks at your seats, and decides.. "I'm going to stand." Then the real hurt begins to sink in. You start to ask yourself... "Do I have something on my face? Do I look stupid? Am I really that repulsive?"

Now, it's not that I don't enjoy a seat all to myself... I do. It's just when one chooses to stand over sitting next to me (the only open seat) that I begin to wonder.

sigh.

  1. Have you considered that it may be the location of your seat? Possibly you could sit next to someone when you get on (if the bus isn't too empty?)that way, you picked whom you are sharing a row with and not the other way around.

All I can say is that it is their loss, as I have occupied the seat next to you and find your company very enjoyable!
